What We Do

Education/Communication

Education/Communication

The vast majority of Korean American and immigrant communities are new immigrants and people who are limited-English-proficient (LEP), and they face serious difficulty in getting the right information and adapting to American society.  As a result, the MinKwon Center for Community Action places a strong emphasis education by using various methods and educational activities to help them adjust to American society and understand their human and civil rights in the United States. As an organization that focuses on community organizing and education, we continuously engage our constituents through “community education” throughout all of our diverse programs.

The MinKwon Center places a strong emphasis on educating the community on important local and federal immigrant rights laws and changes, focusing on how these policies affect the day-to-day lives of our community members. In addition, we seek to broaden our impact by using a grassroots media and publication initiative as a catalyst to engage our community members to participate in efforts for social change.
